Oars:Ours are 7.5ft long. It will be a while before we have an oar kit developed but we are thinking about it. In the meantime here are sources to look at:
A 30 year fascination with the challenges of nesting boat design, and many prototypes have led to the PT Eleven.
Nesting dinghies from PT Watercraft are, we believe, the strongest, lightest and most highly developed boats of this type available.
The PT 11 is a very versatile boat. It rows, sails, and motors and it does all those things exceptionally well. It also nests for carrying on the deck of your sailboat or in the back of a vehicle.
PT Watercraft offers kits for new and unique boat designs that are efficient, functional, modern & attractive.
Our focus is on creating boats that answer the needs of serious cruisers, weekend camp cruisers and environmentally conscious boaters, sail and motor. Featuring: the fuel efficient 18.5ft center console , PT Skiff, Russell Brown’s modern performance nesting dinghy series, carbon marine hardware, water tight hatch kits, hatch toggles or ‘turn dogs’, adjustable wind shields, dinghy rigs, sails, dinghy foil kits, original PTW connective hardware, stitch and glue and epoxy instructional books, etc...
Design collaborations are from Russell Brown, with Paul Bieker and Eric Jolley of Bieker Boats, Jim Franken of Franken Design, Brandon Davis of Turn Point Design, Paul Zeusche of Townsend Bay Marine, Sean Rankins of NW Sails. Special thanks to our honorary consultants, John Marples, Dick Newick, Jim Brown, Brian Clark, Howard Rice, Tom George, Sandy Goodall, John Harris. Wood for our kits comes from Edensaw in Port Townsend, WA. Our preferred epoxy comes from WEST SYTEM.

Nesting dinghy design is an intriguing challenge from many perspectives:
-They must be rugged and practical.
-When nested, they need to make the smallest possible package.
-The interior geometry must fit around the connective bulkheads in a way that allows practical use and nesting.
-The structure must attempt to make the boat as strong as it would be if it was not cut in half.
-The biggest challenge of all is to make assembly of the two halves easy.
Our new method allows easy assembly in the water or out, in chop, or in the dark, in about 20 seconds, something we are quite proud of.
Our assembly method depends on the custom NC machined 316 stainless hardware that holds the two halves together. These parts have a captive pin that does not leak when assembling the boat in the water.
There are also molded carbon parts that align the two halves for assembly. All these parts are included with the kit.
