QUESTIONNAIRE for PTW’s line of Nesting Dinghies.
We have some decisions to make soon on the PT 11 and on future (smaller and larger) boats and we need your help. Telling us what your requirements are in a dinghy and how you vote on details will help us form our course.

If the PT 11 does not fit you needs, what would?

How many people would you typically want to carry?

What is your available space for stowing, either on the deck of your boat or in a vehicle?

How much do you care about good rowing performance and ability to row fast in chop?

Would you choose to install the trunk and mast socket for sailing?

If so, would you choose the type of sailing rig that we have developed?

The PT 11 goes quite fast with a 2HP. Would you use an outboard?

The large foredeck is necessary for multiple reasons. A new foredeck with simpler framing structure (more machined parts) is being built now for inclusion in the manual.

The foredeck hatch is optional. It is being moved aft (for better accessibilty) and made slightly larger. The hatch is flush, watertight, and attractive. The hatch kit will cost around $70. Would you consider buying this hatch kit?

Circle the size dinghy most interesting to you:

Primary use of your nesting dinghy is?

Would you buy a production molded fiberglass version of the nesting dinghy at a cost of around $6.000 + rig, foil and sail cost?

In difference to some manuals, our Builder’s Manuals average between 200 & 300 pages of about 25% text & 75% photographs. They focus on efficient use of the materials & wood/epoxy boat building technique while building a specific kit. Any comments?

What time of year would you typically start or wnat to start a project like this?

Thank you so much for your feedback!
